NEW SITE

So I found a new website called autism speaks. It has lots of information on there. One of things that i found on there is many commitees passed laws so children with autism get lots of help and money from the state to help them with their disability. Children with autism can get help with college and also have people come into the home to help them improve their needs.

WHY AUTISM?

In psychology I am doing a project on autism. I chose this because I have a little brother that has this disability. Living with him can be very hard because he has a short attention span and doesn’t like to listen. Sometimes I tell my parents that I think he knows what he is doing because he is always trying to make me mad. He gets into a lot of things around the house and makes lots of messes. I and my parent tell him all the time that we don’t want to clean it up so he probably shouldn't mess up anymore. Then he agrees not to do it but ends up doing it anyways. You may think that this is what all kids do but it’s a lot different with a child with this disability. This is how they are for many many years. It’s like they never grow up. Also they can be smart in many ways too. My brother loves to play with electrical things. He takes them apart and puts them back together. Also he knows more about things like that then I do. Doing research on autism helps me to understand why he does what he does.
